Here you’ll find my photo gallery with various pictures I’ve taken of things, though predominately Urban Exploration shots. I’m in the process of migrating from the old gallery, to the new, and taking the opportunity to clean up a load of images, add a wee watermark in the bottom left and have things a bit more organised. I’ve started with the urbex pics uploading first, and will add the others as and when I get chance, so watch this space. The new gallery uses Javascript extensively, so if you have it disabled with noscript or similar, you may want to add an exception for this site.

Wish I could have been with you, I used to run Gaumont projecters like those pictured at the Kings in Rochdale up to 1969 when they shut my place down. Kalee 21 picture heads (guessing) Presedent Arcs. It turned inevetably to Bingo and is now disused except for the phone masts growing out of my old projection room. Council have a problem though – it’s a listed building so they cannot knock it down!

I’m absolutely amazed by your pictures as I spent several days in 1979 and 1980 crawling over both engines to prepare measured drawings of them. At the time all the windows were blocked and lighting was generally poor so it was the spookiest place ever! In addition the whole place was filthy dirty and the engines covered in rust so I am pleased that it’s all now so much cleaner and largely refurbished.
At the time there was a former employee living on the site with quite a wealth of stories about the place.
Don’t be mislead by Jim Whittles comment – a listed building can be de-listed and demolished so we need to be vigilant. The historic winding tower at nearby Murton Colliery was listed, then de-listed, and finally demolished, so be on guard.

Loving your photos, particularly the Urban Exploration shots. Do you mind if I share a link to them on FB?

Nice suggestions, what a comfort to discover this sort of insightful argument about the matter. With luck , there’s much more on the way in the near future.
