Court short
Well, as you all know yesterday was the big day for the court appearance for Rookinella and her cohorts.
As some people had noticed, the online listings for Forfar showed that they were not listed to be in court there. None of the other local courts showed them listed either, but a wee bit digging soon turned up the fact that they had just been re-assigned to Arbroath from Forfar, which was more or less the same distance from where I was on Tuesday, so I decided to have a look along anyway.
Round about 9:15 the merry bunch arrived, and as had been promised on one of the urbex sites, Rookinella offered me a chocolate orange. I had no interest in it, but as there was a homeless guy sitting on the next bench along so I said she should just give it to the tramp. She didnt pass it to the homeless guy, but she did unwrap it and eat some, so I guess a tramp got it in the end, just not the one I was thinking of.
Anyway, the day was somewhat of a damp squib court-wise, as the group were sent away after about an hour or so after court opened session for the day, meaning for those coming from Brighton a 1,000+ mile round trip to not even bother appearing in court. Summons for them to return to Arbroath will be in the post for them to re-attend soon however, so I’ve set a script monitoring the Arbroath listings for their appearance and other methods checking also, so assuming I’m free around the time of the new date then I’ll no doubt make a second visit.
The famous five at Arbroath Court

Cheers for keeping us up to date Shepy.
The ginger one would get it first.

I managed to find their names online… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Famous_Five_(series)
The famous five are Julian, Dick, Anne and George — and their dog Timmy.
I’m guessing the guy on the far left is Julian : Julian is the eldest of the five, cousin to George and older brother to Dick and Anne. Tall, strong and intelligent as well as caring, responsible and kind, he is the leader of the group.
Followed by the girl, who I can assume is Anne : Anne is the youngest in the group, and generally takes care of their domestic duties during the Five’s various camping holidays. She is more likely than the others to become frightened and famously dislikes the adventures the Five constantly encounter.
From the right we have Dick : Dick has a subtly cheeky sense of humour, but is also dependable and kind in nature.
Followed by George (Georgina) : Georgina is a tomboy and insists that people call her George and not Georgina. With her short hair and her boy’s clothes she is often mistaken for a boy and this pleases her enormously.
In the middle as we all know… is Timmy (Tim): Timmy, sometimes called Tim, is George’s dog. Timmy is the archetypal loyal mongrel — very clever, affectionate and loyal to the Five and to George in particular. George adores Timmy and thinks that he is the best dog in the world. In the first book of the series, George’s parents have forbidden her to keep Timmy and George is forced to hide him with a friend in the village. After the end of the Five’s first adventure, her parents relent and she is allowed to keep him.

Bah! The one in the red coat looks a bit rough and greasy. Needs a wash methinks. Who’s the one to the far right? The one who’s smiling but if you look closely he’s looking very very uneasy. Needs some oxygen perhaps?
Hats off Sheppy my friend. Your work does not go unnoticed in these parts. A pint of the finest is yours when we do eventually meet.

Thanks for the update Shepy. The one in the red looks like a lap dancer from a scuzzy bar in Birmingham I know, sure I recognise her. The tart in the business suit, second left looks hot though, those suits do it for me big style and I am guessing she is Rookinella? The two guys on the right dont look very urbex super kamikaze suziki ninjas though, I would have thought philately and world-championship tiddlywinks was more their thing.

The one on the far right looks fucking homeless! Is he part of the group or did they find him at court, stinking of Buckfast and begging for a jeely piece and 20p for a wee dram? Your going to court son, don’t turn up looking like a fucking homeless womble, get some clean shoes on, brush your hair and they may just not mistake you for Burney Nesbitt.
It’s a shame they didn’t make it before the beak, Lucy’s pale complexion and stinking red coat must have made the poor judge feel queasy. I’m hoping next time their appearance isn’t quite so soon after breakfast, they are found guilty of all charges and crimes against fasion then duly sentenced to 6 weeks picking up dog shit in the Gorbals.. except the ginger, she may go free without stain on her character and a stern warning not to asociate with such a band of ner’ do wells in future. I like her, I think she’d tast of Campinos.

Who the fuck is the womble on the left?

If she’s half as cool as she is hot, the red head should really find better company to run with. Chocolate orange ay? Hmmmm, I could think of many creative things to do with that. Like warm it in my shorts and return it. :D LEAVE CHOCOLATE ALONE, IT’S PERFECT!!!! On top of which, let’s see, we have a guy who bought a tie for a 2 year old and thought it would be cute to wear to court, spare the red head. The chic in the red coat seriously looks like a low quality stripper, you know the kind, give her her a dollar and ask for change. That guy is wearing a sweater that is too small. He must have dressed himself after eating around the cork on his fork and the guy on the right looks like an Asian fucked a Mexican.

I don’t see how commenting on people’s appearance is at all relevant to the point of this court case or is appropriate.

I stil;l think the redcoat chick is a lap dancer. And the chick second left looks totally outta place. She should be in high class porn films. Who gives a toss about the court case anyway, I just want to see Rookinella get her tits out. for the camera.

The tramp in the red looks like the offspring of a beefeater, a stripper and that skeleton head thing off the nightmare before christmas. It puts the lotion in the basket.

Well from what I saw in the news today (Jumbo bomber returns home) I doubt these misfits will come to much harm in a Scottish court… unless the judge needs that empty cell filled. ;)
Oh – by the way Vivo – why do we call these people? Because of the way we have been treated by them on 28DL. Sure it has absolutely nothing to do with this photo but who cares. You REALLY should open your eyes (cos you’re a canny lad really) and see them for who they really are.
Half the people commenting couldn’t even put a name to all of these faces so I don’t think it’s right to bitch about people you don’t even know.
Secondly, I get on well with every one of these people and will happily say they are my friends. I judge people on how they treat me in person not how they allegedly treat other people on internet forums. So as for opening my eyes, that’s what I have done. I’ve judged them by how I’ve seen them, not by blind schoolyard rumour.
Mmm. Rumour? Well… from PERSONAL experience (and there are threads floating round about this) they look at PMs. Now think about that mate – private messages are just that – private. Their response to folk who complained about it was “we own/run the forum so we can look cos we own it”. That’s terrible!!
The people who use 28DL are puppets. The mods/bumchums etc simply use others for their own gain. Private messages are infiltrated and any leads are used for their own gain. Any folk found bitching the forum via PM are weeded out and either “attacked” very publicly or banned. Full stop.
Now… Vivo do you REALLY want to be part of that system? A forum which uses folk, reads their private mail, gangs up like schoolkids round a victim, bullies, intimidates etc etc. I got sick of their childish nonsense and moved on.
Why have you gone to the “dark side”? Why not concentrate on Northeast urbex?? With the imagination that Northeast urbex has it could easily be bigger and a winner. 28DL poisons good folk Vivo. Some of that poison has already seen members leave Northeast urbex – I know the story…
Now Vivo. A lesson in human behaviour and body language. Read what Shepy has told us at the top of this blog. Rookinella handed him a chocolate orange. He refused. Have you ever actually took time to work out the real reason for it? Obviously not… He refused NOT because it was a peace offering. It was never offered as a peace offering. It was placed in front of him in a symbolic way. Had he taken that chocolate orange he would be accepting them. Not Rookinella (look at the link to Flickr) – all of them have symbolically handled that offering in various ways in the photo shoot. Very much like a witches cure/spell/whatever it was finally handed to him.
Have you never wondered why it was never eaten Vivo? No! Here we have five people who have bought the thing, handled it, carried it for god knows how many miles and god knows how long and then offered to Shepy. Somethings up eh?
The patronising bit…
You are young Vivo and have a lot to learn in life. Take time to stop and observe stuff going on all around you. It is amazing. Just like I am amazed at your naivety on the forum…
PS Some of your SRT technique leaves a lot to be desired!
I’m not defending 28DL in any way although you shouldn’t send genuinely ‘private’ information via forum software which has the capability to read them built in then anyway imho. The actions of Oxygen Thief and the other staff are nothing to do with me, but OT is right when he says it’s his site and he can do as he wishes.
I don’t concentrate on NEUE because there isn’t a lot of stuff on there which particularly interests me atm. I do still check it and read the reports but it’s a quiet forum.
As naïve as you think I am, these are my friends and they have never told me who I should like and who I should hate. I am not going to fall out with someone just because you think I should.
Can I ask though, have we met? You hint that you know me in someway…
As for the SRT technique, it does me fine for what I use it for.

I think Daggernam just about summed up 28dl perfectly. I have never posted on the forum so haven’t been wronged personally, however I have seen the disgraceful manner in which they ridicule, bully and poke fun at new members trying to find out about urbex. Yes, the odd one or too deserve it, but mainly most ask politely only to have it thrown back in their faces and patronized like naughty children. They refuse to accept constructive criticism of any kind, and the forum simply serves as a backpatting community for those they consider to be the ‘elite’. Yes it’s OTs site, so he can say what he wants, as you pointed out Vivo, however don’t be suprised when those same people he has disrespected turn around and bite back when given the opportunity, as he certainly doesn’t give them the chance to do so through his site. If he was man enough to take criticism on his forum, nobody would have a problem. But as it stands, he and certain members of 28DL seem very happy to ridicule and slate any one who says anything out of place, but don’t have the decency to allow them to respond.
And as for using the excuse that they run the forum as justification for looking at private emails. Would you be happy for Microsoft, or your ISP to go rooting through your private emails just because it’s their system? It it a perfect example of their lack of respect for anyone who doesn’t belong to their elitist system.
I don’t send genuinely private stuff via email for that very reason. If someone else can access my data it isn’t private.
My point is this isn’t even about 28DL. It’s about people abusing and insulting people they have never met and couldn’t even name. If you have an issue with 28DL fine, take it up with them, but don’t try and take the mick out of these people when most of them are not behind this ‘elitist system’ you seem to have a problem with.
I have no problem with any of them except rookinella. If she is going to flirt with the media as she has happily done many times in the past, she has to accept it when it comes back around to bite her in the ass when she gets caught with her knickers down.
As she is probably the one person who has spoken most about urbex in the media, she represents the whole community to an extent, whether she likes it or not. People who don’t know anything about urbex and what it involves are now going to think, if one of the moderators of the biggest Urbex board is pinching stuff, surely they are all at it. She makes the whole community look like thieving pikies. We all know that isn’t the case, but most people who read the local rag don’t. She posts constantly on 28DL about all sorts, yet the silence about this on 28DL is deafening. If she had the decency to write a post along the lines of ‘I fucked up, sorry if I made any of you look bad’, people might have a bit of respect for her.

‘My point is this isn’t even about 28DL. It’s about people abusing and insulting people they have never met and couldn’t even name’
spot on there vivo. I think there is an awful lot of ‘jumping on the bandwagon’ going on here.

Thanks Vivo and Mudlark for making a good point. There *is* alot of jumping on the bandwagon here. People should not judge others until they have met them or their actions prove them to be a worthwhile friend or ally. Alot of people just see the particular ‘brand of explorer (a 28dayser or a UEFer etc) and do not take the time to consider how their feelings and reactions to a person arise. The best way to form an opinion of someone is by their attitudes and actions.
May I also draw your attention to this: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/others/urban-sports-the-space-invaders-947981.html and the following quote:
“The British exploring scene itself is largely divided into two groups; one which operates online, and “freelancers” who explore but don’t publish the details of their exploits. The first group uses the website http://www.28dayslater.co.uk, named after the zombie horror film that featured a post-apocalyptic and abandoned London in its opening scenes. 28 Days Later operate openly, have a forum that anyone can view, emphasise using stealth, and tend to appreciate the historical significance of many of the sites they explore. The second group, called When Darkness Falls, communicate through a password-secured website only and, according to Rookinella, it is they who are responsible for much of the bad reputation that urban exploration enjoys.
“There’s a lot of resentment against 28 Days Later from within the urban exploration community,” she says. “Some see us as overly academic and technical, and I admit that we place a great emphasis on things like ropes and climbing, as well as appreciating the history of these places. There are other groups who just do ‘mass invasions’, where they storm a place and throw a party. That’s their choice, but it probably helps to give urban exploration a bad name.”
“In recent months, a number of local newspapers have begun monitoring online exploring forums and have run stories on which buildings on their patches are being targeted. The explorers themselves are often heavily criticised, portrayed as dangerous youths and hooligans, something which Rookinella believes misrepresents the exploring community.
“I’m 22 years old, and I’m probably one of the youngest people I know doing this,” she says, scrambling through another window that she says will take us into West Park’s Great Hall. “The average explorer is normally in their late twenties or early thirties and holds down a perfectly respectable job. The motto of the community, and I admit it sounds a little corny, is ‘Leave only footprints, take only pictures’. But generally, I try to avoid the whole ethics debate.” ”
Best, as always,
Doozer.

Well, all I want to say is, my fantasy is to get Rookinella on a bed with a felt crocheted blanket, tie her down with wool, and stuff her fanny with fresh mackerel and leave it there for 5 weeks then shag her. I am getting hot thinking about it. If she smeared her lady fluids on my face then that would be ace. Rooks, when you finish your shift at the strip club will you come and be stuffed with fish?

And there was me thinking I’d said enough and wouldn’t return to this page…..
Vivo we may have met or we may not have – that is beside the point. The fact that I know an awful lot about you is very unnerving though isn’t it??
Pumpkin thank you for agreeing with me. Obviously we are similar in nature and can see what the naive on here can’t.
I’m particularly liking how the north east lot (AKA The Telegraph crew) have suddenly come out of the woodwork to support poor Vivo (of Seaton Burn ;) ). He’s a big lad, so he says, so he can look after himself. To be honest I won’t say much more cos it’s hitting biased ears.
Vivo – SRT should be done in an upright position – not upside down. ;)
And Dave Mason – you dirty old man!

I agree. I think this thread would be better suited just to slate the self important wankers at 28DL seeing as most people that have posted here seem to have come for that reason. Some of the gimps at 28DL would make Bono look modest ( ‘Alias’ – who is possibly the most self-important cunt on the net and seems to think he is the worlds best photographer despite being regularly shown up by nursepaynes photos , Squirrell911 etc ). I have nothing against any of the people in this thread, except maybe for Rookinella who’s succeeded in making herself look pretty daft. And especially have nothing against the ginger fox ;)
